Youth Gymnastics Classes

gymnastics

A non competitive program designed to teach flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness using gymnastics skills while building positive self-esteem in a relaxed, fun, yet challenging atmosphere. Activities include bars, tumbling, vault, balance beam, and Tumble Trak. We offer very small classes designed to meet each child on their individual level.

Mommy and Me Gymnstics (1 1/2 - 4 year olds and a guardian on Wednesdays)
Our primary free exploration around the gym includes all of the apparatus and the air jumping track. Each week a skill is demonstrated and an obstacle course is created. A moving circle time and songs will be attempted each week! Little ones between 1.5 and 4 year olds are welcome with an adult (and a helper if needed if multiple kids are attending). Come out and meet other families, enjoy socializations, practice boundaries, challenge little bodies, and bounce yourself!

Level 1 Gymnastics for Ages 6 and older

This is our most popular and versatile class. We work on the basics for all events and continue to improve on them. Advancement to the next level of Gymnastics requires a certain level of body control and competency in core skills. The majority of our students will be challenged by and content to stay at this level. Children as young as the age of 6 are eligible for level 1 Gymnastics. We will work on cartwheels, rolls, and handstands. For those who are eager to gain more skill, it often requires about a year of training at this level to move on. This is an outrageously worthwhile way to spend 55 minutes. Students will stay in this class until they have passed the level 1 skills test and have instructor approval to move up.

A great class for the gymnasts who are ready to start learning more advanced skills. CPRD's progressive gymnastics curriculum concentrates on specific progression to allow each gymnast to safely learn the proper technique involved in each skill. This class will introduce level 2 skills necessary to move up to our level 3 class. This will focus on skills that build into routines on bar, beam vault, and floor. In addition to perfecting Level 1 skills, they will also be working on round-offs, bridge kick-over, back hip circles, squat-ons, board drills, and slightly more advanced jumping, leaping, agility movements. We will be learning skills, basic routines, and conditioning. Students will stay in level 2 until they have passed our level 2 skill test.
