Chehalem Park and Recreation 2024 School Age Summer Childcare registration will open April 1, 2024. Please join us for a fun summer!
Summer Childcare is all about fun, creating opportunities for children to play, create, learn, explore and spend time with friends. Each week includes up to 57 hours of camp activities led by fun and energetic CPRD childcare leaders. Activities include crafts, sports, games, special visitors, fieldtrips and theme-focused special events.
When Does School Age Summer Childcare Take Place?
June 20 through August 23
6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday
Note: Summer Childcare will not take place on July 4

Ages 6 to 11 (entering elementary school through fifth grade)

Lunch & Snacks
Participants to provide a lunch and water bottle. Snacks are offered twice daily.
Weekly Activity Theme Calendars
Children participate in a variety of activities, games and crafts that focus on a weekly theme. Activity calendars will be available on the first day of each month at the childcare locations.
Fieldtrips
Join us for fieldtrips throughout the summer! Typical locations may include local CPRD playground parks/nature trails, Chehalem Aquatic and Fitness Center (for supervised swim), Newberg Public Library, local business tours, and a trip to the beach!
Fees & Registration
School Age Summer Childcare Registration Fee: A one-time fee of $35 per child covers the entire summer season. This fee is not refundable.
Full-time Rate Plan = 4 to 5 days per week
$200 per week for Newberg and Dundee residents
$220 per week for residents living outside the Newberg/Dundee area
Part-time Rate Plan = 2 to 3 days per week
$155 a week for Newberg and Dundee residents
$175 a week for residents living outside the Newberg/Dundee area
Daily Rate Plan*
$70 per day, per child
*Registration must be completed 7 days in advance of attending.
Note: Fees are based on daily attendance and not the number of hours attended each day.

Families contract for a specific weekly schedule as indicated on the Enrollment Agreement Form. Payment for this contracted schedule is required every month whether or not your child attends; this enables us to pay our staff a stable wage every week all year. No credits are given for sick or vacation days, holidays, staff training closure or closure due to inclement weather.
Adding extra days - This only applies to part-time families. Any added days are contingent on prior agreement of days of care needed. When a family surpasses three days a week they will be charged the full-time weekly rate.
Payment
Payment is always due in advance with no deduction for any absences, holidays or closures due to inclement weather, power outages, or other situations beyond our control. Payments are due monthly as outlined in the Enrollment Agreement.

Multiple Child Discount - 20% discount for each additional sibling
