Public Open House Events Nov. 19 & 20
You're invited! CPRD is holding a pair of public open house events in order to share details and engage the public in discussion on the state of parks and programs, recent community survey results, and three priority projects: Renne Field development, the Ewing Young Park project, and creating opportunities for recreational mountain biking.
"These projects have drawn a lot of interest from the public. We want to create an opportunity for the wider public to engage and learn what is happening with these areas of interest. While these three topics are discussed regularly in board meetings, this event is designed for the public to spend unhurried time learning about their particular areas of interest in a less structured atmosphere, talking one-on-one with members of the staff and board, and engaging in conversation with neighbors and friends," said Kat Ricker, Public Information Director.
Anyone who is interested in learning about these projects and being part of the public discussion is encouraged to attend. (It is not necessary to attend both events.)

ABOUT THE PROJECTS AND OPEN HOUSES
Renne Field development - CPRD, together with Newberg-Dundee School District, plans to improve Renne Field at South Blaine and East Sixth Streets in the summer of 2026 with artificial turf, an eight-lane synthetic track, a concession stand, restrooms, two pickleball courts, an ADA-compliant pathway, and lighting. See https://www.cprdnewberg.org/general/page/renne-park-project for details.
Ewing Young Park project - CPRD proposes to build a pedestrian and maintenance bridge over Chehalem Creek inside Ewing Young Park in order to access 11 undeveloped acres located on the west side of Chehalem Creek - for emergency access, a trail approximately half a mile long, expansion of the disc golf course, and maintenance.
Creating opportunities for recreational mountain biking - The CPRD Board of Directors is committed to providing opportunities to mountain bikers, but what this will look like and where it might be located are yet to be determined. Come and join the discussion to help CPRD identify the needs and wants of mountain biking.
