Holiday Tree Lighting Event

Chehalem Park and Recreation District, together with the Newberg Downtown Coalition, once again host Newberg's annual Holiday Tree Lighting event, a free, outdoor community event for the whole family. 

This event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28th in front of Chehalem Cultural Center, located at 415 E. Sheridan St. We welcome you with an evening of music, community spirit, and holiday cheer.

Each year, parks staff strings thousands of lights on the grounds around the cultural center (a CPRD-owned facility), harvests a tree from Bob and Crystal Rilee Park, raises it in front of the building, strings it with lights, and lights it in a traditional community holiday event. 

Here is the schedule for the event:

6:00 p.m. Event begins, Santa arrives (approx. 6:06, depending on reindeer traffic)
6:30 p.m. Tree lighting
More special features: Carolers from Yamhill CASA will sing, and the Newberg Noon Rotary Club will provide hot cocoa and treats.
